So, this site sort of "advertises" web development and such, but really my bread and butter is more database domain oriented. I have worked in database development as a programmer or architect for most of the last 20 years. Most of that time was working in Oracle in various *nix flavor environments. I also touched on Netezza, Teradata and Redshift during my career. However, none of those got me so interested as Snowflake, and since working with Snowflake I have discovered and become enamored with dbt.

Dbt is framework that enables one to modularize SQL code, construct models and workflows from those models. Dbt also enables better testing and generated documentation that can be consumed by e.g. a UI front end.

What I most like about dbt is I expect it to allow better testing as well as documentation including workflow DAG's. 

I'll update as I learn more and build with it, but I'm excited about the future of applying modular software engineering practices to SQL and database design and engineering.
